Beautifully Lost Eats - The Riding House Cafe

The lazy Sunday breakfast post...

For me Sunday's are for laying in bed a little longer, for staying in my pyjamas and reading blogs. For mid-day movies and snacks. This particular Sunday however, I was up early to go for breakfast.

I've been wanting to try The Riding House Cafe for sometime now. So that's exactly what I planned to do last weekend, and I'm glad I did. It's the perfect little spot for breakfast. Whether you're meeting with friends or just fancy a quiet breakfast alone, it's lovely either way.

They serve breakfast until noon weekdays and 11.30 on weekends, so you don't have to wake up too early to get down there. They do get busy so it's recommended that you book if you can, otherwise there may be a bit of a wait!

We hadn't booked but we arrived quite early so there were plenty of tables available. But just as we were seated the place soon filled up. We were greeted by a friendly face as we entered, and let me tell you at 9.30am on a weekend this makes all the difference!

There are some great choices on offer, and some classics too. The menu is full of variety so there really is something for everyone. Whether you just want some salmon and eggs, a Full English or as we did - a bit of everything, it's all on offer. The fresh juices and smoothies all sound so refreshing and tasty too!

I went for the Avocado on Toast (obviously) with poached eggs, the Radio Flyer juice and also tried the pancakes. The avocado on toast was delicious, and the buttermilk pancakes were light and fluffy served with berries and vanilla clotted cream. Very indulgent but worth it! Besides, walking around Oxford street worked it off (or so I'd like to hope)! The juice tasted fresh and fruity, and a pleasing change from the humble OJ.

The atmosphere in the cafe felt relaxed and comforting, exactly the kind of place I'd like to be on a Sunday. The tables are well spaced out so you don't feel like you're eating breakfast with strangers, there are books on the shelf for a more sit-back-and-relax kind of feel. The bar is available to sit at too, decked out with cute little lamps. It's really just a sweet little spot that gives me that lazy Sunday feeling and that's why I really enjoyed it.

Give it a go!

Have a happy Sunday :D
